3D perspective experiemnt

We were instructed to sketch a view from outside one of the windows of the Europa building. As the buildings aren't tremendously high I had to exaggerate the perspective quite a bit, but it still turned out to be quite an interesting experiment.

MIMA visit

During a visit to the Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art we were assigned a task in which we had to draw one of Barbara Hepworth's sculptures for 5 minutes, and then redraw it from a different view point for another 5 minutes. Following this were instructed to then exchange our drawings with the person opposite us. The result shown above is my classmate Xuan's blue pencil drawing below my purple pen drawing. Im quite pleased with the contrast there is between Xuan's sketchy style of drawing with my linear approach.

Robot Self Portrait

Our first assignment was to draw a self portrait of ourselves as a robot on A3 paper. Whether the robot was meant to be more illustrative of our personality rather that our physical appearance I'm not certain. My plan basically was to have fun with it, and to experiment with pencil sketching which is something i haven't done in a while.

60's character design

Sketches made from researching models and musicians from the 60's

Costume experiments for female character

Costume experiments for male character.

Experimenting and having fun with designing floral patterns for the male character's clothes

The life drawing of which I based the pose of my male character off

The base colour blocks for the background.

The colours in the image above I felt looked a little too over the top and "cartoonish". I de-saturated them slightly and placed some textures over the buildings and road.
